Oscillating multi-tool

An oscillating multi-tool shakes a short blade back and forth, which lets it cut in places other saws can’t reach. The videos here use one to cut openings in shed wall sheathing, trim around decking, and undercut door casings so vinyl plank flooring slides under. A scrap of flooring on the floor serves as the height guide.
Choose the blade for the material: wood, metal or grout. Let the tool do the cutting, since pushing hard burns the blade. Clamp or hold the work firmly, because the vibration moves things. Wear a dust mask and eye protection, and check for nails or hidden wires before you cut into a wall. See install vinyl plank flooring and build a deck.
