Paint a room
Good paint jobs are about prep and order. The videos here agree on the sequence: patch and sand, tape or mask, prime where needed, cut in the corners and edges, then roll the walls. Work top down, ceiling first, then walls, then trim, and keep a wet edge so you do not see lap marks.
Fix holes first. Our guide to drywall repair shows which patch to use. If the house was built before 1978, test for lead paint before sanding or scraping. Open windows, and wear a mask while sanding. Painting suits beginners and works in any room, such as the bedroom or living room.
