Fix a leak under the sink
Start by finding the source. Dry every pipe, put a piece of paper towel under each joint and run water. A leak at the drain basket or strainer needs a new seal, and the videos here show the repair with new putty and washers and a low-cost kit. Leaks at the trap or slip nuts often just need the nut snugged, or a new washer.
It is a beginner job with channel-lock pliers and a bucket. Hand-tighten plastic nuts, because overtightening cracks them. If water comes from the supply lines or the shut-off valves, replace the part. If a pipe is corroded, see plumbing for more repairs.
