Replace a toilet
Replacing a toilet is mostly about the seal, and the bowl is heavy, so lift with a helper. Shut off the supply at the fixture valve, flush to empty the tank and bowl, and remove the old toilet. The videos here show why the flange matters: its height relative to the finished floor decides which wax ring you need, and a damaged flange has to be repaired first.
Caulk the base only if your local code allows it. If the toilet keeps running afterwards, read why your toilet keeps running. Check for leaks after the first few flushes.
