Vancouver Carpenter

Vancouver Carpenter’s videos here are finish carpentry for beginners. Two cover baseboard installation: one with butt joints, miters and stud layout, the other cutting 44 and 46 degree miters in a rental where the corners were not square. The lesson is the same in both: measure the actual angle instead of assuming 45.

The other two videos fill big gaps with backer rod and paintable latex caulk, and patch a drywall hole with a plywood backing and mesh tape. A miter saw, a stud finder and a caulk gun are the main tools. The patch video is a good first drywall repair because it avoids tricky taping. For wall repair, see patch a hole in drywall and our drywall repair guide.
